The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has supplied 40,840 litres of aviation fuel to the Nepal Army barracks in Nuwakot to support helicopters involved in search and rescue operations following the devastating floods in the Bhote Koshi River. The corporation said it has been regularly supplying aviation fuel to the Nepal Army facility in Nuwakot since Bhadra 10 (August 26) to facilitate helicopter operations in the flood-affected areas.
Aviation Fuel Supplied in Phases
According to NOC, 12,000 litres of aviation fuel were supplied to the Nepal Army barracks on Bhadra 10. On Bhadra 11, a further 10,840 litres were delivered through both helicopter and tanker transportation. Similarly, NOC supplied 9,000 litres of aviation fuel on Bhadra 12 and another 9,000 litres on Bhadra 13.

The fuel is being used to facilitate refuelling of helicopters operating from the Nuwakot location for search and rescue missions in flood-affected areas. With the continued deployment of helicopters for rescue and relief operations, the availability of aviation fuel at a strategic location in Nuwakot is supporting the uninterrupted movement of rescue aircraft.

72,000 Litres of Petrol and 62,000 Litres of Diesel Supplied
NOC also said that its Bagmati Provincial Office in Thankot has supplied fuel to petrol stations located in flood-affected areas. As of Bhadra 13, a total of 72,000 litres of petrol and 62,000 litres of diesel had been supplied to petrol stations in the affected areas. The supply is intended to ensure the availability of essential petroleum products for vehicles and equipment being used in rescue, relief and other emergency operations.

LPG Cylinders Sent to Flood-Affected Shelters
In addition to petroleum and aviation fuel supplies, NOC said that Nepal Gas Industry has provided 232 LPG cylinders to shelters in Nuwakot where people affected by the floods have taken refuge. The cylinders are being supplied to support cooking and other essential requirements at relief shelters. Similarly, the LPG Gas Industry Association has sent an additional 150 LPG cylinders to Nuwakot and Rasuwa for use in relief operations.
Fuel Supply Supports Ongoing Rescue and Relief Efforts
The Nepal Oil Corporation said its continued supply of aviation fuel, petrol, diesel and LPG is aimed at supporting the ongoing search, rescue and relief operations in areas affected by the Bhote Koshi floods. The coordinated supply of essential petroleum products is particularly important as helicopters continue to play a critical role in evacuating stranded people, transporting rescue personnel and delivering emergency supplies to areas where road access has been disrupted by floods and landslides. NOC said it will continue providing necessary petroleum products to support emergency response efforts in the affected areas.
