Qatar Airways will expand its global network to more than 170 destinations during the (2026-2027)winter season, strengthening connections across Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe, the Americas and the Middle East. The airline plans to operate nearly 1,800 weekly frequencies in December 2026, giving passengers greater choice when traveling between major international markets. The expanded winter schedule includes both resumed routes and increased frequencies on existing services, reflecting strong demand across the carrier’s global network. Most international connections will continue to operate through Hamad International Airport in Doha, the airline’s global hub.
As demand for foreign travel continues to rise, the extended timetable is intended to offer more flexibility for both leisure and business travelers. While reestablishing links to previously suspended markets, Qatar Airways is expanding flights to a number of popular tourist locations. Additionally, the airline is expanding its market share in significant business and transit markets, giving travelers across continents greater choices. In addition to taking use of the airline’s growing array of onboard amenities, the wider network will make it easier for passengers to connect between locations on six continents.

Asia Pacific Sees Major Increase In Flight Frequencies
Asia Pacific will receive some of the most significant increases in Qatar Airways services during the winter season. From October 25, flights to Phuket will rise from 14 to 21 weekly, while services to Malé, Maldives, will increase from 12 to 21 weekly. Flights to Ho Chi Minh City will also increase from seven to 11 weekly beginning November 7, supported by the return of four direct weekly services between Doha and the Vietnamese city. Kuala Lumpur will receive 18 weekly Qatar Airways flights from October 25, providing passengers with additional travel options between Malaysia and the airline’s Doha hub.
Australia will also benefit from the expanded schedule, with daily flights to Canberra via Melbourne resuming from December 9. At the same time, Qatar Airways will double its Melbourne service from seven to 14 weekly flights, while its partnership with Virgin Australia will add further connectivity from Sydney, Brisbane and Perth to Doha. Sydney will increase to a combined 21 weekly flights, while Brisbane and Perth will also gain additional services. The expansion gives travelers from Asia and Australia more opportunities to connect with Qatar Airways’ wider network across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Africa And The Americas Gain Stronger Links
Qatar Airways is also expanding its presence across Africa, with daily flights to Zanzibar resuming from October 25. Services to Seychelles will increase from four to seven weekly flights from March 1, 2027, while Johannesburg will receive additional services beginning December 2, taking the route from 14 to 18 weekly flights. The increased frequencies will offer travelers greater flexibility when reaching major African destinations known for their tourism, hospitality and business activity. The airline said the expansion will further strengthen travel and trade connections across the continent.

In North America, Qatar Airways will increase flights to Montréal from five to seven weekly beginning October 25, representing a 40% increase in seat capacity. The additional services are expected to provide greater flexibility for travelers from the Indian Subcontinent and the Middle East traveling to Canada. The airline’s expansion across Africa and North America forms part of a broader strategy to strengthen links between major source markets and international destinations. With additional services across several regions, passengers will have more choices when planning long-haul journeys through Doha.
Europe And Middle East Networks Continue To Expand
The airline will further strengthen its European network by increasing services to several major gateway cities. Flights to London Heathrow will rise from 49 to 56 weekly beginning October 25, adding 11% in capacity, while Frankfurt services will increase from 18 to 21 weekly from December 7. London-Doha connectivity will also be supported by Qatar Airways’ codeshare partner British Airways, which operates a daily service between the two capitals. The additional flights will provide greater capacity on some of the airline’s busiest European connections.
Across the Middle East, Qatar Airways will increase its daily operations by 10% during the winter season and resume services to four destinations in Saudi Arabia. Flights to Qassim will restart on October 25, followed by Taif on October 31, Yanbu on January 2, 2027, and Tabuk on January 3, 2027. Each destination will receive two weekly flights, taking Qatar Airways’ Saudi network to 12 destinations and more than 155 weekly flights. The expansion will give travelers more access to Saudi Arabia while strengthening connections between the Kingdom, Doha and the airline’s wider international network.

Starlink Rollout Adds To Passenger Experience
Alongside its network expansion, Qatar Airways is accelerating the rollout of Starlink in-flight connectivity across its fleet. The airline expects up to 340 Starlink-enabled flights to operate daily, with the technology being introduced across more than 150 equipped widebody aircraft. The expanded service will give passengers increasing access to high-speed Wi-Fi during flights, adding a significant digital component to the airline’s long-haul travel experience. The development comes as Qatar Airways continues to expand both its route network and the services available to passengers onboard.
The airline’s Privilege Club members can also benefit from the program’s range of travel and lifestyle services, including the ability to collect and use Avios for upgrades, shopping and dining at Qatar Duty Free and additional baggage. With its expanded winter schedule, increased frequencies and continued investment in onboard connectivity, Qatar Airways is entering the (2026-2027) season with a larger international footprint. The combination of broader destination coverage and enhanced passenger services is expected to provide travelers with more choice and stronger connections across the airline’s global network.
