The three-day SABRE Global Distribution System (GDS) training organized by the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) Gandaki Province in collaboration with SABRE Official Partner Nepal has concluded in Pokhara. The training, held from Bhadra 26 to 28, 2083 BS, saw the participation of 62 representatives from member tour and travel companies, providing industry professionals with practical knowledge and skills related to the SABRE GDS platform.
Focus on Strengthening Travel Industry Skills
The training was organized with the objective of enhancing the technical capabilities of travel and tourism professionals and familiarizing them with the use of global distribution systems in modern travel operations. With the growing importance of technology in airline reservations, ticketing and travel management, the training provided participants with an opportunity to improve their understanding of SABRE and its application in day-to-day travel agency operations. The participation of 62 trainees from NATTA Gandaki Province member companies reflected strong interest among travel businesses in strengthening their technological and professional competencies.
Tourism Stakeholders Attend Closing Ceremony
The closing ceremony was chaired by Sangita Sharma Paudel, President of NATTA Gandaki Province. Santosh Pokhrel, Executive Board Member of the Nepal Tourism Board and former President of NATTA Gandaki Province, attended the ceremony as the chief guest.
The event was also attended by representatives and office-bearers of the Pokhara Tourism Council and its affiliated organizations, the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), Gandaki Province, SABRE Nepal trainers, representatives of GSA flydubai Nepal, and other tourism-related organizations and institutions. The closing ceremony was moderated by Tara Prasad Gautam, General Secretary of NATTA Gandaki Province.

Addressing the ceremony, Hari Ram Adhikari, First Vice President of the Pokhara Tourism Council and former President of NATTA Gandaki Province, highlighted the importance of professional development and technology-based training for tourism businesses. He emphasized the need for travel companies and tourism professionals to continuously enhance their skills and adapt to changing technologies in order to remain competitive in the evolving tourism market.
Pokhrel Commends NATTA Gandaki’s Initiative
Chief guest Santosh Pokhrel congratulated all the participants upon successfully completing the training. Certificates Presented to Participants
At the conclusion of the program, mementos were presented to the chief guest and special guest in recognition of their presence and support. Similarly, the SABRE Nepal trainers were honored with appreciation certificates for their contribution to the training program. All 62 participants were also presented with certificates of completion, formally recognizing their successful participation in the three-day SABRE GDS training.
