Malta has been boosted in its air connectivity to Scotland, as easyJet launched a new direct service to the Mediterranean destination providing Scottish travelers with increased access to its historic landmarks, beaches, cultural attractions and year-round tourism experiences.
The new easyJet Glasgow-Malta route, supported by Visit Malta, operated for the first time on August 4, 2026, and is planned to operate every Tuesday and Friday between Glasgow Airport and Malta, providing western Scottish residents with a direct option to the island and bolstering its wider connection to the UK tourism market. The easyJet service comes in addition to direct Ryanair and Jet2 flights on the Glasgow-Malta route, and has added to the capacity between the two destinations as demand for Malta as a Scottish holiday destination continues to grow.

The direct easyJet connection is expected to make the journey between Scotland and Malta more straightforward by providing passengers with a nonstop option, as opposed to those taking connecting flights. One of the featured offers includes a three-night stay at the four-star Santana Hotel in Qawra on Malta’s northeastern coast. For travel dates of November 6 to 9, 2026, the package includes three nights of accommodation, breakfast, direct return flights from Glasgow to Malta, two hold bags, return airport transfers and ATOL protection. The hotel features a rooftop swimming pool, restaurant, café and poolside bar, while the nearest beach is approximately 0.3 kilometers away.
