Emirates will celebrate the Mid Autumn Festival with a range of special seasonal offerings for passengers flying between Dubai and several Asian destinations. Customers on select Emirates flights on September 25 and 26, 2026 will be able to receive complimentary traditional mooncakes as part of the airline’s festive inflight service. The initiative will be offered across all cabin classes, offering a cultural touch to the passenger experience during the festival period.
The special program will apply to Emirates services connecting Dubai with destinations in Singapore, China, Hong Kong and Malaysia. The airline will allow passengers to enjoy the festival themed offering alongside their regular meal service, allowing the airline to add an element of Asian cultural tradition to the journey. The initiative is part of Emirates’ efforts to provide regionally relevant experiences for passengers travelling during major cultural occasions.
Traditional mooncakes to feature inflight
Emirates will serve specially prepared mooncakes featuring a traditional red bean paste filling during lunch and dinner services on selected flights. First Class and Business Class passengers will receive the festive treat in specially designed gift boxes following the first meal service, providing an additional presentation element for premium-cabin travellers. The mooncakes will be provided as a complimentary seasonal item rather than as a separate purchase.
Passengers flying in Premium Economy and Economy Class will be able to receive the mooncakes as part of their regular meal trays. This arrangement will allow customers across Emirates’ cabin classes to participate in the seasonal celebration while continuing to receive standard meal service from the airline. The inclusion of the mooncakes throughout the cabin offering will extend the festival experience to a wider range of international travellers.
Special festival offerings planned at Asian lounges
The Mid Autumn Festival celebration will also extend to selected Emirates airport lounges, with additional festive food offerings planned for October 6, 2026. Emirates lounges in Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai will serve mooncakes along with lava custard black gold glutinous rice balls as part of their special seasonal menus. The offering will give eligible lounge users an opportunity to experience traditional festival inspired treats before or after their flights.
The lounge programme will complement the airline’s inflight initiative, bringing the festival theme into selected airport facilities as well. Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai are important Asian aviation markets for Emirates, making the special menus part of the airline’s wider effort to reflect local cultural occasions in its passenger services. The seasonal food selection is also expected to add variety to the lounge dining experience during the festival period.
Chinese language entertainment expanded onboard
Emirates will mark the occasion through its ice inflight entertainment system, which will feature more than 40 Cantonese and Mandarin films. The selection includes titles such as I am What I Am 2, Invincible Swordsman, The Way We Talk and I Want to Be Rich, providing passengers with a broader range of Chinese-language entertainment while travelling. The programme is intended to complement the festival-themed food and provide culturally relevant entertainment throughout the flight.
The airline will also offer more than 300 Hollywood films with Chinese subtitles through its inflight entertainment platform. The selection includes How to Train Your Dragon, Elio, Materialists and Audrey’s Children, providing additional choices for passengers who prefer international films with Chinese-language support. Together, the Cantonese and Mandarin selections and the subtitled Hollywood titles will broaden entertainment options for passengers flying on Emirates’ Asian routes.
