Rare Python Found in Shuklaphanta Municipality

In Shuklaphanta Municipality-2, Laxmipur, a rare python has been discovered today. The python was found inside a resident Sunil Dagaura’s goat shed.

According to ward member Doublebahadur Aire, the python, weighing eight kilograms, is over three meters long. “Upon learning that the python was inside the goat shed, we safely captured it and placed it in a sack,” Aire said. “We informed the Shuklaphanta National Park, and after that, we handed over the sack containing the python to the park’s team.” The park staff has released the rescued python into a secure area within the park.

Resident Haridatt Bhatta mentioned that the python might have arrived at Dagaura’s goat shed in search of food, traveling through the Sanwora River and Chitoura Stream. He also noted that a similar python rescue operation took place in the same area last year, with the animal being handed over to the park staff.
