A Sita Air aircraft lost one of its wheels while landing at Juphal Airport in Dolpa on Thursday morning. The incident occurred as the aircraft was landing after flying from Nepalgunj.
Sita Air Aircraft Lands Safely Despite Wheel Problem
According to authorities, Sita Air Aircraft’s rear right-side wheel came off and moved outward from its position during the landing. The aircraft was carrying 13 passengers, including seven foreign nationals and six Nepali passengers. Among the passengers, 11 were men and two were women. All passengers and crew members are reported to be safe, with no injuries reported in the incident.
Incident Occurred at 8:25 AM
Deputy Superintendent of Police Anil Raj Giri of the District Police Office, Dolpa, said the incident occurred at around 8:25 AM while the aircraft was landing at Juphal Airport. He confirmed that the wheel on the rear side of the aircraft came off during the landing and moved out of its position.
Technical Team Inspecting Aircraft
Chief District Officer Junu Hamal Dhakal said the aircraft experienced a minor issue with its wheel and confirmed that everyone on board was safe. The aircraft remains on the runway at Juphal Airport, while technical personnel are carrying out an inspection to determine the cause of the wheel problem. Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation as technical teams assess the aircraft.
