Pokhara is set to host ‘Dashain Fest 2083’, a three-day cultural and entertainment festival centred on music, dance and Nepal’s traditional culture during the Dashain festival. The event will be held at Amar Singh Chaur from Ashwin 24 to 26, targeting domestic tourists visiting Pokhara during Dashain as well as local audiences. Organised jointly by Mirror King Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. and B2D Dance School, the festival aims to create an additional attraction in Pokhara while promoting Nepali art, music and culture.
Music, culture and dance under one roof
The festival in Pokhara will be organised under the theme ‘Music, Culture and Dance on a Single Platform’, bringing together established artists, students and emerging talents. According to event coordinator Aman Tamang, the festival aims to connect the tradition of travelling and spending time with family and friends during Dashain with cultural and entertainment activities.

He said the event would provide visitors and local audiences with an opportunity to enjoy entertainment while experiencing Nepali music, dance and cultural performances. Tamang added that bringing established artists and younger talents to the same platform would also help create an environment for cultural exchange and the transfer of artistic traditions between generations.

‘Dancing Superstar’ competition on first day
The first day of the festival, Ashwin 24, will feature a ‘Dancing Superstar’ competition involving 24 contestants. The winner will receive a cash prize of Rs 77,000, while the first and second runners-up will receive Rs 33,000 and Rs 22,000, respectively. The consolation prize has been set at Rs 11,000. The same day will also feature musical performances by Mantra, Trishna Gurung and The Collab, and Tuki.

18 schools to compete in folk dance
On Ashwin 25, the festival will host a National Folk Cultural Dance Competition, with participation from 18 schools. The winning team will receive Rs 55,000, while the second- and third-place teams will receive Rs 33,000 and Rs 22,000, respectively. The consolation team will receive Rs 11,000. The day will also feature a musical performance by Prakash Dutraj and Lineup Lok Band.
Local artists to perform on final day
The festival will conclude on Ashwin 26 with performances by local bands and artists. The organisers said preparations for security, venue management and technical arrangements are currently underway to ensure the smooth operation of the three-day event. With a combination of competitive dance programmes, folk culture and live music, the organisers expect Dashain Fest 2083 to provide a platform for emerging artists while adding a cultural attraction for visitors spending the Dashain holiday in Pokhara.
