Ramesh Lamichhane, Executive Committee (EC) Member of the Board of Airlines Representatives in Nepal (BARN) representing Emirates, has been nominated to the Tourism Committee of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) for the 2026–2029 term.
Lamichhane’s nomination brings representation from Nepal’s aviation industry to the FNCCI Tourism Committee, providing an aviation-sector perspective on issues concerning tourism development, business facilitation and the broader growth of Nepal’s tourism industry.

Strengthening Aviation-Tourism Coordination
The FNCCI Tourism Committee works on issues related to Nepal’s tourism sector, including sectoral development, business conditions and matters affecting tourism-related enterprises.
Lamichhane’s involvement is expected to contribute to greater coordination between the aviation and tourism industries, particularly on issues related to connectivity, passenger movement and the development of Nepal as an international tourism destination.
Air connectivity remains an important component of Nepal’s tourism industry, with international and domestic airlines playing a key role in bringing visitors to the country and connecting Nepal with major tourism markets.
BARN Congratulates Lamichhane
BARN congratulated Lamichhane on his nomination to the FNCCI Tourism Committee and expressed confidence that his experience in the aviation industry would contribute positively to the committee’s work.
The organization also wished him success in his new responsibility and expressed hope that his involvement would support the growth and development of Nepal’s aviation, tourism and broader business sectors.
His representation is also expected to provide an additional platform for discussions between airlines, tourism businesses and private-sector organizations on issues affecting Nepal’s aviation and tourism industries.

Focus on Nepal’s Tourism and Connectivity Potential
The nomination comes at a time when stronger coordination among airlines, tourism stakeholders and the private sector remains important for expanding Nepal’s international air connectivity and tourism potential. Aviation and tourism are closely linked, with the availability of reliable air connections playing a significant role in facilitating international tourist arrivals and supporting businesses across the tourism value chain.
Lamichhane’s participation in the FNCCI Tourism Committee is therefore expected to help bring aviation-sector concerns and perspectives into broader discussions on tourism policy, business development and sectoral growth during the 2026–2029 term.
