Chitwan National Park has reopened jeep safaris from October 9, which were closed since July 1 due to the monsoon. After the closure of the safari service for the monsoon season, forest authorities have repaired roads in the national park that were damaged by heavy rains and cleared paths of trees and bushes. Chitwan National Park is famous for its rich wildlife and natural beauty and attracts thousands of local and foreign tourists. With the opening of the safari, the park is now ready to welcome autumn season tourism.

Flood Damage Delays Safari Reopening
According to Abinash Thapa Magar, the information officer at the Chitwan National Park, the safari was resumed after the maintenance of the roads damaged due to the monsoon rains and flooding. Park authorities maintained the route by removing the trees and bushes along the tracks so that it could be accessible to the tourists.
However, the road in the national park was damaged again due to the flooding that occurred in the second week of October, and the Chitwan National Park had to close the safari service again. Finally, after maintenance, the national park resumed jeep safaris on October 9 and welcomed tourists inside the forest.

74 Jeeps Operate Through Five Access Points
There are 74 jeeps that operate inside the Chitwan National Park. According to the data released by the Chitwan National Park, out of 74 jeeps, 32 jeeps operate from Sauraha, 22 jeeps operate from Kasara, 11 jeeps from Meghauli, 8 jeeps from Amaltari, and 1 from Madi. All these jeeps operate through different entry points and provide tourists with the best experience of a jungle safari in Chitwan.
Jeep safari is one of the main attractions of Chitwan National Park, and it consists of exploring the forest and seeing the natural beauty and endangered animals like the one-horned rhinoceros, Bengal tiger, and many others. The opening of the jeep safari will be beneficial for the tourism sector and the people living in and around the Chitwan National Park.

Buffer Zone Safaris Continued During Closure
Even though the safari inside the national park was closed due to the monsoon, the jeep and the elephant safari service in the buffer zone and community forest continued. During the closure of the national park, those who wanted to visit Chitwan and see the wildlife and jungle beauty had the option to visit the community forest and the buffer zone.

And now, with the reopening of the park, visitors can again experience the beauty of the national park. The resumption of the jeep safari by the Chitwan National Park helps it increase its tourism value by attracting wildlife lovers. With the improvement in the road and the removal of obstacles like trees and bushes, the forest officials have facilitated better access to the national park for tourists.
