MPs Raise Concerns Over Unsafe Air Travel and Demand Government Action

During today’s session of the House of Representatives, several MPs expressed their concerns over the increasing safety issues in air travel and urged the government to ensure the security of civil aviation.

During an urgent session, MP Sobita Gautam emphasized the need for new legislation to enhance the safety of the country’s aviation sector. “There are serious problems in the aviation sector. We need to urgently enact laws to make this sector safer. I urge all relevant authorities to take immediate action,” she said.

MP Bina Lama also drew attention to the growing insecurity in both air and road travel. “Not only are our roads unsafe, but even the previously considered safe air travel has become a concern,” she stated.

Additionally, MP Birendra Prasad Mahato highlighted the case of Arun Sharma, a 20-year-old from Kalaiya-3 in Siraha district, who has been missing in Kathmandu for the past 35 days without any trace. He called on the government to address the issue and also requested the implementation of flood protection measures to safeguard settlements in the Terai region from riverbank erosion.

These discussions underscore the urgent need for government intervention to address safety and security concerns across multiple areas.
