A helicopter en route from Pokhara to Kathmandu carrying a patient made an emergency landing in Dhading due to adverse weather conditions.
The Kailash Helicopter Services aircraft, with the registration 9N-AML, was forced to land safely in an open field at Thakre Gaunpalika-7, Aathkilo, Dhading, due to heavy rainfall and poor visibility caused by clouds. The helicopter was transporting a patient with asthma from Pokhara’s Manipal Hospital to Kathmandu when the weather deteriorated, prompting the pilot to take precautionary measures.
Ward Chairman of Thakre Gaunpalika-7, Yubaraj Khatriwada, confirmed the safe landing and noted that the helicopter had landed without incident. Deputy Superintendent of Police Makendra Kumar Mishra from the District Police Office in Dhading reported that the pilot decided to land in a safe location after assessing the risks associated with continuing the flight to Kathmandu.
