Malaysia’s low-cost airline, AirAsia, is set to resume its Kathmandu operations after a five-year hiatus, launching flights to Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok. Starting October 2, 2024, AirAsia will operate flights on this route four days a week: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
To mark its return, AirAsia has introduced a special promotional fare of Rs 9,990 for one-way flights from Kathmandu to Bangkok. This offer is available for travel between October 2, 2024, and March 28, 2025. However, passengers must book their tickets between August 12 and August 25, 2024, to take advantage of this discounted price.
AirAsia believes this promotional offer will particularly appeal to Nepali travelers, as Bangkok remains one of their top travel destinations.
Tickets at the promotional rate can be booked through the AirAsia Move app, AirAsia’s partner Universal Tours and Travels, or any nearby AirAsia agency. After the promotional period, the standard ticket price on this route is expected to start at around Rs 24,000.
AirAsia’s return to Kathmandu is expected to provide more affordable travel options for passengers, further strengthening ties between Nepal and Thailand.
