The Panchdhare-Chakhewa road in Bhojpur is currently impassable due to a significant landslide triggered by recent rainfall. The landslide, which occurred in the Ghurbise area of Rumathumki within Temkemaiyung-9, has blocked the road with debris, halting all vehicular movement.
Ekraj Bista, a local resident, reported that the situation is dangerous, with a large section of the road washed away. “It is even risky to walk in that section of the road as the landslide has created hazardous conditions,” he said. The ongoing landslide has severely disrupted transport services, making daily life challenging for residents.
This road is a crucial link between Bhojpur and Khotang districts, and its closure is impacting not only the people of western Bhojpur but also those in the neighboring Khotang district.
