Tourism Disrupted by Landslides and Floods in Western Nepal

Traffic disruptions along key routes in Western Nepal have impacted tourism activities due to recent natural calamities. A landslide at Bohara in Bheri Municipality-4, Jajarkot district, has obstructed traffic along the Bheri corridor. The landslide also caused the collapse of electric poles, leading to a power outage in the affected area, according to Purushottam Prasad Pandey, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) at the District Police Office, Jajarkot.

In addition, heavy flooding in the Pitibang River at Musikot Municipality-11 in Rukum Paschim has led to significant disruptions on the Rapti Highway. DSP Nabaraj Pokharel reported that vehicular movement to and from Musikot has been halted since early morning today, affecting travel plans and tourism activities in the region.

Further complications have arisen from landslides at Chinabagar and Githagoth in Sanibheri Rural Municipality, which have interrupted traffic along the Mid Hill Highway in Rukum Paschim district. These disruptions are causing delays for tourists and travelers navigating these essential routes. The authorities are working to clear the debris and restore normalcy to ensure that tourism and transportation in the affected areas can resume as soon as possible.
