The body of a 20-year-old man who died in the Badimalika area of Bajura following heavy snowfall has been airlifted to the district headquarters Martadi by a Nepal Army helicopter.
The deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Manish Bohora, a resident of Daiji in Bedkot Municipality, Kanchanpur. Bohora had gone to the religious and tourist destination of Badimalika to visit the Badimalika Temple and explore the area.

Bohora Found Dead Near Triveni Patan
Bohora had been missing since Friday after heavy snowfall hit the Badimalika region. His body was found near Triveni Patan on Sunday afternoon during a search operation.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Shaileshwari Bohora, chief of the District Police Office, Bajura, the body was airlifted to Martadi and taken to the District Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Police suspect that Bohora may have died from exposure to extreme cold and altitude-related illness following the heavy snowfall in the area. However, the exact cause of death will be established following the medical examination.
Police and Armed Police Mobilized for Search
After Bohora was reported missing, teams from the Nepal Police and Armed Police Force were deployed to the Badimalika area on Sunday morning to conduct a search operation.

The search and rescue operation was challenging due to heavy snowfall and difficult terrain. The Badimalika area lies at an altitude of around 4,200 meters, where temperatures can drop significantly during snowfall and adverse weather conditions. Authorities subsequently used a helicopter to facilitate the search and recovery operation.
Another Tourist Rescued Earlier
The incident comes days after another visitor was rescued from the Badimalika area following heavy snowfall. On Saturday afternoon, 21-year-old Sagar Karki, a resident of Krishnapur Municipality-2, Kanchanpur, who had been stranded at Triveni Patan, was rescued by helicopter and brought to Martadi.
The difficult terrain and heavy snowfall had prevented rescue teams from reaching the affected area on foot, prompting authorities to use helicopter support for search and rescue operations.

Weather Risks Remain High in Badimalika
Badimalika is a high-altitude religious and tourist destination where weather conditions can change rapidly. The area is particularly vulnerable to heavy snowfall and extreme cold during unfavorable weather conditions.
Officials and tourism stakeholders have urged pilgrims and visitors planning to travel to Badimalika to check weather forecasts in advance, make adequate preparations and follow safety measures, particularly during periods of adverse weather.
The latest incident highlights the risks faced by visitors traveling to high-altitude destinations without adequate preparation during sudden changes in mountain weather.
