Travel content creators from seven countries are exploring some of Pokhara’s most popular tourist attractions as part of an initiative to promote Nepal’s tourism potential to a global audience through digital platforms. The creators are visiting major destinations across the city, capturing its natural beauty, cultural heritage, scenic landscapes and tourism activities for videos to be shared with audiences worldwide.
The initiative is being carried out through collaboration between the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and social media platform TikTok, with the active involvement of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation. Creators from France, Portugal, Tunisia, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have been invited to Nepal to produce digital content highlighting the country’s diverse tourism experiences.

Seven Major Attractions in Pokhara on the Creators’ Itinerary
The creators began their field visits in Pokhara on Saturday evening, with a programme covering seven prominent attractions: Phewa Lake, Patale Chhango (Davis Falls), World Peace Pagoda, Pumdikot, Kaskikot, Sarangkot and Begnas Lake. These destinations offer a range of experiences, from lakeside scenery and panoramic mountain views to cultural sites and opportunities to explore the city’s surrounding landscapes.
Phewa Lake, one of Pokhara’s best-known attractions, offers visitors opportunities to enjoy boating and views of the surrounding hills and mountains. Davis Falls, locally known as Patale Chhango, is another popular natural attraction, while the World Peace Pagoda is recognised for its hilltop setting and panoramic views of Pokhara Valley and the Annapurna range. The inclusion of these destinations provides opportunities to capture different aspects of Pokhara’s natural and visitor appeal.

The itinerary also includes Pumdikot, known for its religious significance and hilltop setting, as well as Kaskikot and Sarangkot, which are valued for their scenic surroundings and mountain vistas. Begnas Lake, located in the eastern part of the Pokhara Valley, adds another dimension to the visit through its quieter lakeside environment. Together, the seven locations represent a variety of attractions that contribute to Pokhara’s position as one of Nepal’s leading tourism destinations.
Digital Content to Highlight Nature, Culture and Adventure
During their visits, the creators are expected to produce videos featuring the natural beauty, traditional arts, cultural practices, adventure activities and local lifestyles of the destinations. The content will be distributed through TikTok and other social media platforms, allowing viewers in different countries to discover Nepal’s tourism attractions through short-form travel videos. The campaign aims to use the creators’ digital reach and storytelling abilities to present Nepal beyond conventional destination promotion.

By documenting places, activities and local experiences, the initiative seeks to give potential visitors a closer look at what they can explore during a trip to the country. Pokhara’s combination of lakes, hills, mountain views, cultural sites and adventure opportunities makes it a suitable destination for this type of visual promotion. The creators’ visits to different locations are expected to provide a range of perspectives on the city and its surrounding areas, helping audiences discover attractions beyond the most familiar tourist sites.
NTB Plans to Expand the Global Promotion Campaign
Nepal Tourism Board Executive Board Member Santosh Pokharel said the promotional campaign would continue throughout the year, with plans to invite influential content creators from additional countries in the future. The initiative is intended to strengthen Nepal’s visibility in international markets by reaching audiences through digital platforms that play an increasingly important role in travel inspiration and destination discovery.

Pokharel’s remarks indicate that the campaign is not limited to a single visit but is part of a continuing effort to introduce Nepal’s tourism destinations to wider audiences. Inviting creators from different countries could also help the tourism sector reach varied international markets through content tailored to their respective audiences.
Pokhara Tourism Entrepreneurs See Strong Promotional Potential
Pokhara Tourism Council President Hari Bhujel said content creators with large numbers of followers can introduce destinations to millions of people through their social media channels. He highlighted the effectiveness of short videos in promoting tourism destinations and reaching potential travellers. Digital travel content has become an important way for people to discover places, learn about local experiences and consider future travel plans. Videos featuring Pokhara’s lakes, viewpoints, cultural attractions and adventure activities can help viewers understand the range of experiences available in the destination.

The current initiative also extends beyond Pokhara, with the first phase of content production focusing on Pokhara, Chitwan and Bardiya. Through this wider coverage, the campaign aims to present different dimensions of Nepal’s tourism offerings, including natural landscapes, wildlife, culture, adventure and local lifestyles. The participation of creators from seven countries offers an opportunity to introduce Nepal’s destinations to audiences across different regions. As the creators document their experiences and share them online, the campaign is expected to contribute to the global promotion of Pokhara and strengthen the visibility of Nepal as a destination with diverse travel experiences.
