The Tourism and Small Industries Development Office, Lamjung, has reported a significant increase in cottage industry registrations for the fiscal year spanning from July 17, 2023, to July 15, 2024. A total of 218 new cottage industries were registered during this period, reflecting the district’s growing focus on small-scale industrial development.
Office Chief Mita Kumari Thapa highlighted its achievements, stating that 412 industries have successfully renewed their registrations within the same timeframe. This renewal rate underscores the sustained interest and growth within the district’s cottage industry sector.
Of the newly registered firms, 176 are categorized as commercial enterprises, further bolstering the local economy. Additionally, 552 commercial firms also completed the renewal process, indicating a robust entrepreneurial environment in Lamjung.
In comparison, 291 cottage industries were registered in the previous fiscal year 2022/23, illustrating the continued upward trend in cottage industry growth in the region.
This surge in registrations and renewals is expected to contribute significantly to the district’s economic development, with small industries playing a crucial role in fostering local employment and entrepreneurship.
