In an unusual incident in Manahari, Makawanpur, a buffalo killed a tiger that had ventured out of Chitwan National Park. The tiger was discovered dead in the cattle shed of a local farmer, Balbahadur Rai, in Pratappur, Ward No. 6 of Manahari Municipality.
According to Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, an information officer at Chitwan National Park, the tiger was killed this morning during a confrontation with the buffalo. The tiger’s attack left the buffalo injured. This incident marks a first of its kind in the area, as such occurrences have not been previously reported in the park or its surrounding regions.
Tiwari noted that the deceased tiger appeared to be old and emaciated, suggesting that it might have ventured outside the park in search of food due to its inability to hunt within the park. The carcass of the tiger has been brought to the national park for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death and to further understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.
