Landslide Disrupts Araniko and Helambu Highways, Impacting Tourism in Kavrepalanchowk and Panchkhal

The Araniko and Helambu highways have been obstructed following a dry landslide that occurred this morning in Bhumlu Rural Municipality-8 of Kavrepalanchowk and Panchkhal Municipality-4 along the Araniko Highway.

According to the District Police Office, the landslide has caused significant disruptions to travel on both highways. The landslide, which struck early this morning, has forced authorities to halt vehicular movement as they work to clear the debris.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Raj Kumar Shrestha reported that small vehicles are being redirected through alternative routes to ensure that travelers can still reach their destinations. Efforts to restore normal traffic flow on the affected highways are currently underway.

This disruption on key highways not only affects daily commuters but also has implications for tourism, as these routes are popular among visitors exploring the scenic regions of Kavrepalanchowk and the Helambu area. Tourists planning to visit these regions should be aware of potential delays and check for the latest travel advisories before embarking on their journey.
