Prime Minister Oli Advocates for Global Promotion of Nepal’s Cultural Traditions

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called for the global promotion of Nepal’s diverse cultural and unique traditions. Speaking at a program held at Tundikhel in Kathmandu to celebrate Gaura Parva, Prime Minister Oli emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting Nepal’s rich natural and cultural heritage.

“We possess a wealth of cultural diversity and unique traditions that should not be forgotten but instead, universalized,” stated Oli. He urged everyone to take responsibility for safeguarding Nepal’s cultural and natural diversities. The Prime Minister highlighted the Sudurpaschim region as the cradle of Nepalese civilization, emphasizing the need to protect and promote the cultures, lifestyles, and traditions originating from there.

In his remarks, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba noted that Gaura Parva spreads the message of unity and brotherhood. He described the festival as a grand and unique celebration, particularly for the Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces.

Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey also addressed the gathering, underscoring that Gaura Parva embodies messages of self-discipline, decency, goodwill, and affinity. He called on everyone to embody these values in their daily lives.

Minister for Forest and Environment Ain Bahadur Shahi highlighted the festival’s role in promoting national unity and goodwill.

Former Deputy Prime Minister Bhim Bahadur Rawal extended his wishes for peace, happiness, and prosperity to all Nepalis on the occasion of Gaura Parva.
