The funds collected through Deusi Bhailo celebrations in Rampur Municipality, Palpa, have been invested in social initiatives. The Chetanshil Women’s Group of Rahudanda, located in Rampur Municipality-10, used the funds raised last year to construct a building for the group’s activities.
Vishnumaya Khamcha, President of the Chetanshil Women’s Group, explained that the building was necessary to hold meetings, conduct various activities, and store equipment. To meet this need, the group decided to use the funds collected during Tihar’s Deusi Bhailo festivities for the building’s construction.
“The funds raised from Deusi Bhailo have been put to good use. However, the amount collected was insufficient to complete the building, so we received additional support from Rampur Municipality and various local organizations,” Khamcha said.
The building was constructed at a total cost of NPR 1.66 million, with contributions including NPR 650,000 from Rampur Municipality, NPR 620,000 from the Chetanshil Women’s Group, NPR 100,000 from the Baba Group, NPR 20,000 from the Srijanshil Youth Club, and labor donations from the local community, according to Bhuwan Singh Sinjali, Coordinator of the Construction Committee.
Inaugurating the newly constructed building, the Mayor of Rampur Municipality Raman Bahadur Thapa stated that the municipal government is committed to supporting social sector work that connects with the community. He emphasized that the municipality has been working without hesitation to provide relief and services to the people.
“The local government is working with a sense of ownership, ensuring that the community feels it is their own. We regularly monitor structures built by the local government and allocate budgets for infrastructure development based on need,” Mayor Thapa added.
With the completion of the building, it will now be easier for various groups, clubs, and local development organizations to hold meetings, conduct training, and organize various programs.
