Banepa is set to host the fifth edition of the “Banepa Festival 2081,” a grand event featuring a blend of commercial, cultural, and entertainment activities. Organized by Banepa Boys Club, the festival will take place from Ashoj 9 and will continue for 15 days at the Ugraeshwar Mahadev Temple premises in Banepa Municipality.
The festival aims to boost domestic tourism while promoting agriculture, religion, culture, industry, and handicrafts. Mahesh Karmacharya, the President of Banepa Boys Club, announced that the event would feature around 100 exhibition stalls showcasing agricultural products, handicrafts, and other locally made goods.
To ensure a memorable experience for children, a play garden will be set up, and the festival will host cultural programs featuring national artists daily. The event will also include sports competitions, open dance and singing contests, martial arts demonstrations, and various competitions centered on the history of Banepa.
Karmacharya mentioned that preparations for the festival’s management are already underway. The festival will highlight local art and culture through traditional displays, musical performances, and folk dances. The organizing committee is in the process of forming various subcommittees to oversee the festival’s successful execution.
Banepa, a historic and ancient city, is the main commercial hub of Kavrepalanchok, and this festival is expected to further elevate its cultural and economic significance.
