Nepal is currently under the influence of monsoon winds, with the monsoon trough positioned near average locations in the west and south of the eastern region, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

The weather across the country is generally partly to mostly cloudy, with light to moderate rainfall occurring in some areas of Bagmati Province. Light to moderate rain is also reported in a few locations in Koshi, Gandaki, and Lumbini Provinces.

According to the weather forecast bulletin issued by the department, the weather is expected to remain partly to mostly cloudy across the country this afternoon. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is possible in some areas of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali Provinces, as well as in a few locations in other provinces. There is also a possibility of heavy rainfall in some areas of Koshi Province, and in one or two locations each in Bagmati, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim Provinces.

Tonight, the weather will remain partly to mostly cloudy nationwide. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in some areas of Koshi, Madhes, Lumbini, and Bagmati Provinces, and in a few locations in other provinces.

Over the next 24 hours, the department anticipates light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in several areas of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali Provinces, as well as in a few parts of other provinces. Heavy rainfall is also possible in a few locations in Koshi Province and in one or two locations in Bagmati, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim Provinces.

The department has advised caution due to potential risks of landslides, flooding, and erosion in these areas. There may also be partial impacts on daily life, agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, road, and air transport. The public is urged to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to mitigate any adverse effects from the expected weather conditions.
