The Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Cooperatives of Bagmati Province has initiated a promotional rally to commemorate Bagmati Visit Year 2024, focusing on drive tourism, two-wheel touring, and sports tourism. Managed by the NASA Foundation, the rally seeks to explore and enhance tourism prospects within the province.
The rally commenced on Monday at the International Sports Complex in Satdobato, Lalitpur. It features three vehicles and 13 participants from various sectors. Krishna Singh Basnet, President of NASA Foundation, and Dasharath Rijal, President of NASA Nepal, inaugurated the rally, wishing the participants success and encouraging them to conduct thorough studies of the tourist areas.
The first day of the rally saw participants traveling to Kuri Bazaar near Kalinchowk, passing through notable locations such as Nagarkot, Dolalghat, Sukute Beach, and Mudhe. Over the next few days, the participants will visit several key destinations including Dolakha Bhimeshwar, Sindhuligadhi, Makwanpur Gadhi, Sauraha, Trishuli River for rafting, Nuwakot Durbar, Mailung Waterfall, Devighat, and Markhu. The rally will conclude in Godavari, Lalitpur.
Throughout the rally, participants will gather data on various tourist destinations and religious sites across Bagmati Province. This information will be used to develop strategies to promote drive tourism, two-wheel touring, and sports tourism in the area. The findings, along with promotional materials and videos, will be presented to the ministry for further action.
The initiative aims to identify and publicize lesser-known tourist spots within Bagmati Province, making them more accessible to visitors using regular vehicles and motorcycles. By doing so, the program intends to lay the groundwork for sustainable tourism in the region, promoting economic growth and cultural preservation through enhanced tourism activities.
