To promote village tourism, the Village Tourism Promotion Forum (VITOF) Gandaki Province, in collaboration with Madi Rural Municipality, Kaski, has conducted a training program for 34 tourism entrepreneurs in the region.
Under the slogan “Every Village a Tourist Destination,” VITOF Gandaki organized a three-day residential training program from June 16 to 18. The training aimed to enhance the promotion and development of village tourism. Participants included locals from various tourist villages within Madi Rural Municipality, such as Sikles, Tangting, Yanjakot, Thuloswara, Lamtari Danda, and Bayarghari.
The training was conducted by experts including Dr. Ramji Sharma, Tikaram Sapkota, Dipendra Pahari, Saraswati Gautam, and Taranath Pahari. At the closing ceremony, Madi Rural Municipality Chief Devi Jung Gurung distributed certificates to the participants. He emphasized the significant potential for village tourism in Madi and highlighted the necessity of leveraging this potential. He expressed confidence that the village guide training would lead to the professional development of village tourism in the area.
The closing event was chaired by VITOF Gandaki President Shobha Sapkota and attended by Ward No. 5 Chairman Humnath Adhikari, VITOF Gandaki Advisor and Trainer Tikaram Sapkota, Former President Uday Subedi, First Vice President Ramesh Neupane, Second Vice President Sushila Bhandari, Secretary Laxman Pahari, Madi Rural Municipality Homestay Association President Bhim Bahadur Gurung, and trainees Keshav Adhikari and Chok Bahadur Gurung, among others.
