The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that the country is currently under the influence of monsoon winds, with the monsoon trough positioned south of its normal location. As a result, the weather across Nepal is predominantly partly to generally cloudy.
According to the department, today’s weather will remain partly to generally cloudy throughout the country. There is a likelihood of light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning in some areas of the Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Heavy rainfall is expected in one or two locations within the Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces.
Tonight, the weather is forecasted to be partly to generally cloudy across the country. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms in parts of Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Heavy rainfall may occur in one or two locations in the Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Over the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning is expected in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Heavy rainfall is also anticipated in one or two locations within Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. The department has advised residents in these areas to remain vigilant and prepared for potential weather disturbances.
