Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Badri Pandey Announces Expansion of NATHM Across All Seven Provinces

On Wednesday, Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Badri Pandey announced plans to expand the Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM) to all seven provinces of Nepal. This significant move aims to strengthen the academy’s role in developing skilled human resources for the tourism and hospitality sectors.

Minister Pandey announced during a visit to NATHM’s office at Ravi Bhawan and the new office of the Nepal Mountaineering Training Institute in New Baneshwor. He emphasized that the expansion would be carried out under the NATHM Development Act and highlighted the necessity of legal provisions for its smooth operation.

He expressed confidence that the NATHM-related bill would be presented to the Parliament during the upcoming winter session. Pandey also underscored that NATHM-trained personnel are already skilled and certified to compete in the global market.

The Minister highlighted the importance of NATHM collaborating with international organizations and institutions. He assured that the Ministry would not interfere in the operational matters of NATHM, thus ensuring its autonomous functioning.

This expansion is expected to enhance the capacity of NATHM and provide more opportunities for aspiring professionals in Nepal’s burgeoning tourism and hospitality sectors.
