Clean-Up Initiative for ‘View Fewa Round Fewa’ Trekking Route

The Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) Gandaki has successfully conducted a clean-up program for the ‘View Fewa Round Fewa’ trekking route, aiming to promote sustainable tourism.

Held on Saturday, the initiative received praise from Hari Bhujel, Senior Vice President of the Pokhara Tourism Council. He acknowledged that while the trekking route has not yet reached its full potential, TAAN Gandaki’s efforts to clean and maintain it are crucial for enhancing its visibility and overall quality. Bhujel expressed confidence that this route could significantly contribute to increasing the length of stay for tourists in Pokhara, especially given the stunning views of the Annapurna mountain range it offers.

Krisnprasada Acharya, President of TAAN Gandaki, emphasized the importance of preserving the trekking route and integrating it with local business opportunities. He highlighted that this route is vital for attracting tourists who wish to enjoy breathtaking views of Machapuchhre and Annapurna, thereby extending their stay, even if just for a day.

Acharya also noted that the Gandaki Provincial Government has urged the need to develop new trekking paths and protect such initiatives, a sentiment that TAAN has embraced. Himlal Baral, Chairperson of Ward No. 22 in Pokhara, expressed gratitude for TAAN Gandaki’s consistent support in all aspects of the ‘View Fewa Round Fewa’ circuit’s development and pledged cooperation from the ward.

The clean-up program, a collaborative effort between the Pokhara Tourism Council and Ward No. 22, saw participation from various stakeholders, including representatives from the Ministry of Tourism, Nepal Tourism Board, local clubs, tourist police, and community groups. Their collective involvement underscores the commitment to enhancing the region’s tourism potential.
