Special Welcome for Tourists in Pokhara on World Tourism Day

On the occasion of the 45th World Tourism Day, three tourists arriving in Pokhara via land routes were honored with a special welcome today. A ceremony held at Ammat in Pokhara recognized these three international visitors who arrived by bus as the fastest to reach the city.

Laxman Subedi, President of the Hotel Association of Pokhara, announced that the association provided complimentary accommodation and meals as a reward for the tourists. Accommodation and dining arrangements were made by Atithi Resort & Spa, Glacier Hotel, and Hotel Crown Himalayas on behalf of the association.

In celebration of World Tourism Day, the association also offered a 20% discount on published room rates to all tourists visiting Pokhara. However, the program to welcome tourists arriving by air was affected by adverse weather conditions.

The tourists arriving by land were welcomed at the Tourist Bus Park in Rastriya Bank Chowk with music and festivities. The Pokhara Tourism Council organized a four-day event under the theme of “Tourism and Peace,” which included various activities such as a mini street festival by REWAN Pokhara, a homestay program by Vitoff Gandaki, a talk show by Parished, a water journey organized by NARA Pokhara, a tourist vehicle rally by NTBA, a trek by TAANn Gandaki, a blood donation drive by NATTA Gandaki, and a ceremonial welcome with an Aarti and mountain race by the Tourism Ministry Gandaki and other organizations.

Taranath Pahari, President of the Pokhara Tourism Council, stated that the Tourism Day programs would conclude on Saturday.
