Weather Forecast Update: Monsoon Winds Continue to Influence Various Parts of Nepal

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that monsoon winds influence weather conditions across Nepal. Additionally, a low-pressure system in northern Bangladesh and the surrounding areas of West Bengal, India, contributes to partial weather changes in the eastern and central parts of the country.

According to the department, the weather is mostly clear in most parts of the country, with partial cloudiness in the hilly regions, including Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces. Light to moderate rainfall is occurring in a few areas of Lumbini and one or two locations in the Sudurpaschim Province.

This afternoon, the weather is expected to be partly to generally cloudy across the country. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some parts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini Provinces, as well as in one or two locations in the remaining provinces.

For tonight, the department predicts that the hilly regions will experience partial to moderate cloud cover, while the weather in other areas will remain mostly clear. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is also likely in some parts of Koshi and Gandaki Provinces and in one or two places in other provinces.

The department’s forecast for the next 24 hours indicates that several parts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini Provinces will witness light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning. Other provinces may also experience similar weather conditions in a few areas.

Meteorologist Saroj Poudel stated that the monsoon is gradually weakening. This update serves as a reminder for residents and travelers to stay alert and prepared for possible rain and thunderstorms in various parts of Nepal.
