Surge in Tourist Activity in Kusma During Dashain Festival

The picturesque town of Kusma in the Parvat district has experienced a significant increase in both domestic and international tourist arrivals, coinciding with the Dashain festival celebrations. Many visitors have flocked to the area during their holidays, while various organizations have organized observation tours to the district headquarters.

Kusma boasts several attractions, including bungee jumping, zip-lining, and towering suspension bridges, making it a popular destination for domestic tourists. The festive season has brought renewed vibrancy to the area, with an influx of visitors seen particularly during the Dashain and Tihar festivals.

Local hotelier Suresh K.C. reported an uptick in tourist numbers, stating, “With the increase in visitors, the hotels in Kusma are becoming fully booked.” The rise in tourism has led to the establishment of more comfortable hotels in the area, catering to the needs of both local and foreign travelers.

Tourism entrepreneur Krishna Prasad Shrestha noted that the influx of tourists heading to Mustang, Upper Mustang, and the Korla border has contributed to the lively atmosphere in Kusma. He mentioned that many tourists visiting Mustang book accommodations in Kusma.

Operators have also indicated that ticket bookings for bungee jumping and zip-lining have been underway for over a week, with peak tourist activity occurring on Fridays, Saturdays, and public holidays. As Kusma continues to attract visitors, local businesses are optimistic about the positive impact on the tourism sector.
