Veteran Tourism Entrepreneur Basanta Raj Mishra Passes Away at 72

Renowned tourism entrepreneur Basanta Raj Mishra has passed away at the age of 72. Mishra, who had been battling dengue, was receiving treatment at Norvic Hospital before his demise, family sources confirmed.

Mishra’s body will be kept at his residence in Kupandol, Lalitpur, for two hours today to allow friends, family, and colleagues to pay their final respects. His cremation is scheduled to take place at Pashupati Aryaghat this afternoon.

As the Chairperson of the Temple Tiger Group, Mishra was a pivotal figure in Nepal’s tourism industry. With a career spanning over five decades, he significantly contributed to the growth and development of tourism in the country.

Mishra is survived by his spouse and a son, leaving behind a legacy of dedication to Nepal’s tourism sector. His passing marks a great loss to the industry and the country as a whole.
