Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Hit Bahadur Tamang, reaffirmed the government’s dedication to promoting all languages spoken in Nepal. Speaking at the 67th-anniversary celebration of the Nepal Academy, the Minister highlighted the government’s priority on the development of the country’s diverse languages, literature, and cultures.

Addressing attendees, Minister Tamang underscored the crucial role of the Nepal Academy in this mission. He assured the Academy of the government’s full support in enhancing the fields of language, literature, culture, and philosophy. “The foundation of the Academy is built on the people’s struggle and sacrifices, making it a supreme institute tasked with the research and development of languages, literature, culture, social sciences, and indigenous creations,” he stated.

Established as the Nepal Literary Art Academy in 2014 BS, the institution has a storied history of contributing to Nepal’s cultural and literary heritage. To mark its anniversary, the Academy hosted a national-level poetry festival, celebrating the rich literary traditions of the nation.

The Minister’s address emphasized the government’s recognition of the Academy’s instrumental role and its commitment to fostering a vibrant cultural and linguistic landscape in Nepal.
