Department of Hydrology and Meteorology Issues Weather Update and Safety Advisory

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that the country is experiencing a general influence of westerly winds, resulting in partly cloudy conditions in the hilly regions and fair weather across the rest of Nepal. Foggy conditions persist in some areas of the Tarai and a few places in the hilly regions.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the weather during the day is expected to be partly cloudy in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, while other parts of the country will remain fair. Light rain is forecasted at one or two locations in the hilly regions of these provinces, with light snowfall anticipated at higher elevations in the mountainous areas.

For tonight, similar patterns are expected, with partly cloudy skies in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. Light rain may occur at isolated spots in the hilly regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.

Over the next 24 hours, the weather may see light to moderate rainfall in parts of the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. Additionally, light snowfall is likely in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.

In light of potential impacts on agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, roadways, and air transport, the Department has urged citizens to adopt necessary precautionary safety measures.
