Launch Alert: Aanbu Khaireni Unveils ‘One Ward, One Tourist Village’ Initiative

Aanbu Khaireni Rural Municipality in Tanahun has launched the “One Ward, One Tourist Village” initiative. The project aims to develop villages into tourist destinations by prioritizing infrastructure development.

Municipality Chairperson Shukra Chuman stated that the goal is to attract tourists and improve locals’ living standards. In the first phase, Giranchaur (Ward 1) and Hilekhark (Ward 6) are being developed as tourist villages, with a budget of NPR 4 million allocated for each.

The municipality is also focusing on religious tourism, developing sites like Chimkeshwari, Akala, Aandhimul, and Panchakanya temples. Additionally, Ainapahara (Ward 2) has been developed as a rest area, generating over NPR 6 million in revenue through ticket sales.

Further plans include operating motorboats in an artificial lake in the Marsyangdi River and creating another artificial lake in Aandhimul to boost religious tourism. The municipality has allocated NPR 4 million for this project.
