An Air India flight carrying 239 passengers, which was en route from Mumbai to New York, was diverted to Delhi on Monday morning following a bomb threat.
According to Indian media reports, Mumbai Airport received a message regarding the bomb threat on the flight destined for New York. This message was promptly relayed to security agencies in Delhi, which led to the directive to divert the aircraft to the capital.
The flight safely landed at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. All passengers onboard are reported to be safe.
In the wake of the incident, police and security agencies have initiated a thorough investigation of the aircraft.
Air India also released a statement explaining that the flight, designated as AI-119, was diverted due to a security alert while traveling from Mumbai to JFK Airport. The airline is making efforts to minimize any inconvenience caused to the passengers.
