Air services to Humla have been halted for three days starting Wednesday due to adverse weather conditions at Simikot Airport. Mahendra Bahadur Singh, Chief of the Simikot branch of the Civil Aviation Authority, confirmed the suspension.
Preparations were underway for flights from Nepalgunj by Tara, Sita, and Summit Air to Simikot. However, as reported by Singh, the inclement weather in the surrounding areas of the Inner Route to Humla and Simikot forced the suspension of air services.
Heavy rainfall has begun in Beluka today. Tourists preparing to return after visiting Mansarovar and Kailash are stranded, planning to travel back via the Tibetan route from Taklakot, Rasuwagadhi, and Kathmandu.
Travelers bound for Simikot from Nepalgunj are advised to wait at Nepalgunj Airport throughout the day until flight services resume.
