Airlines Reveal Fare Details to Tourism Ministry After Growing Complaints of Artificial Shortages

In response to increasing complaints about artificial shortages causing difficulties for passengers, 11 airlines operating international flights from Tribhuvan International Airport have submitted their fare details to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation.

The Ministry issued a directive on Wednesday, instructing airlines to provide fare details within 24 hours after concerns were raised about the unavailability of seats and high prices. The airlines complied by submitting their fare schedules to the Ministry on Thursday.

According to Ramkrishna Lamichhane, the Ministry’s spokesperson and Deputy Secretary, the airlines that provided the fare details include Nepal Airlines, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, FlyDubai, Indigo Airlines, Air Arabia, Turkish Airlines, Korean Airlines, Sichuan Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, and Jazeera Airways.

This step comes as the Ministry works to address public grievances regarding inflated airfares and limited seat availability on international flights, which have impacted many travelers.
