Armed Police Honors First Everest Climber from Nepal Police on Its 24th Anniversary

On the occasion of the 24th Armed Police Day 2081, the Armed Police Force honored Senior Police Inspector Purushottam Nepali, Nepal Police’s first and only Mount Everest climber. He was presented with the “IG APF Commendation” in recognition of his exceptional achievements.

Purushottam Nepali is known for being the first Everest climber from Nepal Police and for hoisting the flags of 196 countries along with the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL). He is also a well-known songwriter and poet, and his contribution to Nepal’s mountaineering history is highly celebrated.

The recognition was awarded for his role in establishing the Himalayan branch of the Armed Police and his continuous support in its development. Purushottam Nepali has also been honored by INTERPOL for his achievements, further establishing his legacy both in Nepal and internationally.

This award highlights his commitment to Nepal’s law enforcement and his significant contributions to both national and international achievements in mountaineering.
