Victory for Nepali Cuisine: Arun Adhikari Elected as Global Chefs Society President

At a general assembly in Kathmandu, Arun Adhikari was chosen as the new president of the International Nepali Chefs Society. The organization’s main objective is to bring together Nepali chefs from all over the world in order to improve the reputation and quality of Nepali food internationally. The occasion was a major step in creating a cohesive platform that highlights Nepal’s rich culinary legacy while also emphasizing the advancement and international recognition of Nepali chefs.

A Central Executive Committee consisting of 36 members was chosen by the assembly. Alongside President Arun Adhikari, the newly established leadership team consists of Vice Presidents Saikumar Sharma, Surya Bhandari, and Shyam Bhandari, as well as Senior Vice President Shyam Angami.

Deepak Karki was chosen as General Secretary, Balram Khatiwada as Secretary, Rajkumar Giri as Joint Secretary, Bishnu Khatri as Treasurer, and Hariraj Ghimire as Joint Treasurer. Ram Sen, Varun Singh, Laxman Sapkota, Phanindra Pantha, and Uddhav Shrestha are among the other elected officials.

Labahadur Kaushal (LB), Basudev Bhusal, Resham Bahadur Lama, Human Limbu, Kumar Timilsina, Ishwar Pant, Subash Thapa, Saroj Thapa, Shakbhir Lama, Krishnahari Sapkota, Baburam Karki, Deepak Marasini, Amardeep Karki, Deepak Bhusal, Binod Soni, Bimal Karki, Tek Khanal, Govinda Rai, Ram Kumar Joshi, Prakash Budha Thoki, and Bed Prasad Adhikari are also on the board.

President Adhikari emphasized the society’s goals in his inaugural address, including uniting Nepali chefs under a single worldwide network, promoting genuine Nepali food abroad, improving food quality standards, and assisting chefs in their professional and personal growth. He stressed that in order to improve culinary abilities and make Nepali food a recognized international cuisine, the society would work in an organized and institutional way.

The International Nepali Chefs Society wants to develop into a strong forum for Nepali chefs to share their skills, represent the country’s diverse culinary landscape, and exchange knowledge. The recently elected committee is dedicated to raising culinary standards, actively promoting food internationally, and giving chefs the tools and recognition they merit. In addition to aiding in the preservation of Nepal’s distinctive culinary traditions, this program establishes Nepal as an essential part of the world’s culinary scene.
