Bagmati Province Assembly Committees Finalize Two Long-Pending Bills

The subject committees under the Bagmati Province Assembly have recently concluded discussions on two bills that had been pending for an extended period.

In yesterday’s session, the Industry, Tourism, and Environment Committee of the Provincial Assembly finalized the “Bagmati Province Handicraft Village Establishment and Operation Bill, 2080” after a clause-by-clause discussion. This bill, which had been under consideration for the past year, will now be presented to the Provincial Assembly for further deliberation.

The committee’s chairman, Anand Kumar Shrestha, informed that all 30 clauses of the bill were passed unanimously. Despite being registered in the committee back in Ashwin 2080, the bill’s progress had been delayed due to political changes, budget issues, and other factors.

Similarly, the Education, Health, and Agriculture Committee also held a meeting today, where they passed the “Bagmati Province Health Service Act Amendment Bill, 2080” following a detailed clause-by-clause discussion. Committee member Thakur Prasad Dhakal stated that the delay in finalizing this health bill had affected the establishment of health institutions and other related activities in the province.

The Education, Health, and Agriculture Committee is scheduled to meet again tomorrow to discuss the “Bagmati Province Agricultural Development Bill,” which will also undergo a clause-by-clause review.
