Bandipur Municipality-5, located in Bhujel village, is home to the charming and scenic small Aandhimul, which awaits development to attract more tourists. The area is naturally beautiful, and residents believe that with proper development, it could attract both domestic and international visitors.
Narayan Lamichhane, a resident of Aabukhaireni Municipality-1 in Yanchok, highlighted the potential of the small Aandhimul, which resembles the renowned Aandhimul of the region. He suggested that with proper conservation, the area could become both a religious and recreational site, offering opportunities for picnic gatherings and nature tourism.
Aandhimul has been a popular religious tourist destination, and Lamichhane emphasized that it should be developed similarly to the more well-known sites in the area. The location boasts a natural spring with a three-meter-long wooden channel and is surrounded by large trees that enhance the beauty of the region. Lamichhane also pointed out that there are 48 ropanis of government land around the area, making it ideal for development into a picnic spot and tourist destination.
Resident Tham Prasad Bhatta mentioned that the community has urged the municipality to allocate a budget for the construction of infrastructure such as a temple, pond, seating areas, and other facilities to support the growth of the site as a tourist destination.
Surendra Bahadur Thapa, the Chairman of Bandipur Municipality, expressed his commitment to supporting the promotion of this area. He assured that the municipality would allocate funds in the upcoming budget to conduct a detailed study and prepare a report for the development of the site. Thapa further mentioned that basic infrastructure, such as a gravel road and electricity, is already in place, with easy access from the Prithvi Highway via Yampafant, Thumka, and Bhujel villages.
With the right investment and infrastructure, Bandipur’s small Aandhimul has the potential to become an attractive destination for both domestic and international tourists.
