Bhirkot Municipality–4, Sisaoghari, has begun construction of a temple pond, combining religious significance with tourism development. The initiative aims to promote religious tourism while generating a sustainable income source for the local community.
Integrated Infrastructure Development in Bhirkot
The project is being implemented under the Integrated Urban Infrastructure Program of the Ministry of Urban Development, Department of Urban Development and Building Construction, Kaski. According to engineer Achyut Paudel, the plan includes constructing a paved road leading to the temple pond, ensuring easy access for visitors.
“The temple pond with a shrine in the center is being built as a potential source of income,” Paudel said. “The access route to the site will be made fully paved to facilitate tourist movement.”
Budget Allocation and Timeline
The total budget allocated for the construction of the pond, temple, and paved road is NPR 12.8 crore. The municipality has set a target to complete the construction by Falgun 2083. The temple within the pond will house Shiva-Parvati and Ganesh statues, which will be installed upon completion. Authorities believe that the project will not only attract pilgrims and tourists but also contribute to local economic development.
