Bhutanese Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck visited the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Swayambhunath today, offering prayers and observing the iconic stupa.
The King was warmly welcomed by officials from the Swayambhu Management and Conservation Committee upon his arrival at the sacred site. During his visit, which lasted approximately 30 minutes, King Jigme Khesar admired the panoramic view of the Kathmandu Valley from the Swayambhunath complex.


The Bhutanese monarch arrived in Nepal this morning as part of his journey back home from India. Following his visit to Swayambhunath, he is scheduled to visit Boudhanath Stupa before returning to Bhutan later today, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This brief yet significant visit highlights the deep cultural and religious ties shared between Nepal and Bhutan.
