Bomb Threat on Air India Flight at Tribhuvan International Airport: Passengers Evacuated for Thorough Security Check

A bomb threat has been reported on an Air India flight scheduled to depart from Tribhuvan International Airport to Delhi, prompting authorities to evacuate all passengers and conduct a comprehensive security check.

The alert came at 4:31 p.m., just as the aircraft, carrying 168 passengers, was preparing for its flight to Delhi. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal received the threat, and the airport police and Nepal Army bomb squad were immediately mobilized to investigate.

All 160 passengers bound for Delhi had already boarded the flight, and their luggage had been loaded when the threat was received. Following the evacuation, each piece of luggage was offloaded and inspected using sniffer dogs to ensure safety. SSP Dambar Bahadur Bik, Chief of the Airport Police, confirmed the thorough search procedure to ensure passenger safety.

This incident follows a similar scare last week involving an Air India flight, and a previous bomb threat on a Vistara aircraft, both of which were found to be false alarms. Authorities are proceeding with utmost caution as they investigate this latest report.
