CAAN Urges International Airlines to Waive Fees for Passengers Missing Flights Due to Weather Disruptions

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has requested international airlines to offer fee waivers for passengers who missed their international flights due to the cancellation of domestic flights caused by adverse weather conditions.

According to CAAN, international airlines operating out of Tribhuvan International Airport have been asked not to charge fees for date changes, no-show penalties, or fare increases for flights scheduled between September 27 and October 2. This request aims to provide relief to passengers affected by weather-related flight disruptions.

The authority has further urged airlines to apply this fee waiver to tickets up until October 11, ensuring that passengers facing such challenges receive some financial relief.

Earlier, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation directed CAAN to ensure that passengers missing their international flights due to canceled domestic flights could reschedule without incurring additional fees.
