Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific has once again secured a place among the world’s three highest-rated airlines at the prestigious Skytrax World Airline Awards. The airline also received two major honors this year, being named World’s Best Airline Cabin Crew and World’s Best First Class Lounge, highlighting its focus on passenger service and travel experience. The awards were presented at a ceremony in London, where Cathay Group Chief Executive Officer Ronald Lam, Chief Operations and Service Delivery Officer Alex McGowan and Service Delivery Director Mandy Ng accepted the honors on behalf of the group.
Strong Recognition for Passenger Service
Cathay Pacific said the latest recognition reflects the service delivered by its employees both onboard aircraft and at ground facilities. The airline’s cabin crew received particular recognition for their hospitality, care and commitment to passengers. The company said the award reflects the continued efforts of its frontline teams to maintain a high standard of customer service. Ronald Lam said being recognized among the world’s leading airlines, while also receiving awards for cabin crew and first-class lounge services, was a significant achievement for the entire workforce. He added that the recognition would encourage the airline to continue working toward becoming a preferred service brand for travellers.
Major Investment in Travel Experience
Cathay Pacific also plans to invest around HK$150 billion in expanding and upgrading its fleet, improving cabins and lounges, and strengthening its digital services. The investment is expected to support the airline’s efforts to enhance the passenger experience across different stages of a journey, from airport facilities to onboard services. The company has also been upgrading its premium travel facilities as part of its broader service improvement programme.

Cathay Pacific’s flagship first-class lounge, The Wing, First, at Hong Kong International Airport was also recognized as the world’s best first-class lounge. The facility underwent an extensive refurbishment before reopening with upgraded spaces designed around comfort, privacy and premium dining. The latest Skytrax recognition places Cathay Pacific among the leading global airlines and highlights the growing emphasis on service quality and passenger experience in international aviation.
