Siddhartha Hospitality, part of the Siddhartha Group, is upgrading the Siddhartha Riverside Resort in Chumlingtar, Chitwan to a four-star level resort. Currently operating under the “Siddhartha Batika” brand, the resort will soon reopen as part of the “Siddhartha Vaibhav” brand. According to Kiran Rimal, a board member of Siddhartha Hospitality and Cluster Manager for the region, the upgrade is in its final stages and is expected to be completed by the end of Ashar (mid-July 2025).

Post-upgrade, the resort will feature 64 rooms and 99 beds, up from its current 26 rooms and 56 beds. It will also include a presidential suite with both outdoor and indoor jacuzzis, and a new 425-square-foot Grand Deluxe Room equipped with a bathtub. To enhance the family experience, the resort is building water play areas for children and has already added a mini futsal ground.

A scenic deck restaurant overlooking the Trishuli River, capable of hosting 80 guests, will promote Nepali food and culture and offer water music entertainment in a peaceful setting. Additionally, a new 300-seat conference hall will be added to the existing 100-seat hall. The upgraded resort will also feature an all-day dining area for 100 guests, a spacious garden, a swimming pool, a dedicated playground, an in-house grocery store, and weekly cultural dance performances showcasing Gurung and Magar traditions in Chitwan.

Rimal said the upgrade is aimed at attracting growing numbers of tourists and corporate visitors heading to destinations like Pokhara and Bandipur. The resort will also cater to travelers along the highway, with a separate restaurant and electric vehicle charging station. Currently, the resort employs 60 people, and the number will increase to 85 after the upgrade. The upcoming dam for the Super Trishuli Hydropower Project near the resort is also expected to boost local tourism.

Once upgraded, the resort will offer tailored travel packages for tourists visiting Pokhara, Manakamana Temple, and Bandipur, helping promote tourism in the region. Siddhartha Hospitality currently operates over 30 outlets across Nepal under various brands, including the five-star Siddhartha Vilasa, the four-star Siddhartha Vaibhav, the three-star Siddhartha Batika, as well as Siddhartha Cottage and S Café brands.
