The weather in Koshi Province, which had cleared following days of continuous rain and related disasters, is forecast to turn cloudy again starting today. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the cloudy conditions will also impact Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
Meteorologist Pratibha Manandhar indicated that Koshi Province is likely to experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainfall, a pattern that is expected to spread to the neighboring provinces of Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki. This weather condition is expected to persist until Thursday, with the potential for intermittent rain.
Although no heavy or continuous rainfall is forecast, the recent rains have left the soil in many parts of the country saturated and unstable. Any additional rainfall could increase the risk of landslides and flooding, especially in vulnerable areas.
The monsoon winds are currently influencing the weather across the country, and a low-pressure system in Madhya Pradesh, India, is contributing to these conditions in Nepal. For the evening, partly to generally cloudy skies are expected in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in the hilly regions of the rest of the country.
Light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, is likely in some areas of Koshi Province, as well as in the hilly regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, and other parts of the country. The forecast for Wednesday, October 2, includes similar conditions, with potential heavy rainfall in isolated parts of Koshi Province.
The Division has advised the public to remain cautious due to the risk of landslides and localized flooding as the weather continues to fluctuate.
